Upgrades to Gadsden Hotel on Tap
Renovations are underway for Douglas’ grand dame, the historic Gadsden Hotel.
Guests who have stayed at the Gadsden in the past will still be able to enjoy the Tiffany stained glass murals in the hotel's lobby, soaring columns decorated with gold leaf, and the marble staircase. In addition, they’ll see renovated guest rooms, and a refurbished bar and restaurant.
Already in progress are upgrades to the hotel’s famous Saddle & Spur Bar. The booths have been reupholstered, and the walls have been repainted, with more to come. The café and dining room will receive cosmetic upgrades once the Saddle & Spur is reopened. Next, the 23 guest rooms on the mezzanine level will be renovated. Subsequently, guest rooms on the other floors will be renovated.
The restaurant’s menu will be revamped, continuing its most popular meals and introducing new flavors. The hotel’s new General Manager, Tom Rollins, was trained at Le Cordon Bleu and brings more than 5 years of hotel management experience to the historic Gadsden Hotel.
