Join us for a special outdoor lecture and presentation by William Hartmann and Gayle Harrison Hartmann at the Coronado National Memorial Picnic Area. William and Gayle Hartmann are renowned Coronado expedition scholars and will discuss the fascinating history and archaeology surrounding the expedition. The talk will be based on the recent University of Arizona Press book, “Searching For Golden Empires” (by Hartmann), and will highlight motivations for the 1540 Coronado expedition and the archaeological evidence that is helping scholars determine the route of the entrada. The Park will provide chairs for the outdoor lecture, but attendees may want to consider bringing camp chairs or seat cushions.
