You get showered in safe, eco-friendly, plant-based cornstarch dye at every kilometer. Then enjoy the Dye Festival afterward, where you can Tie-Dye the Sky (not to mention all your friends). Bisbee 500 Glow: see Bisbee in a new light
The folks who bring you the annual Bisbee Stair Climb have organized another fun event that will be held March 15, 2014. The 3-mile evening Stair Climb will be a walk (or run) that will show Bisbee in a new light.
The evening run’s 3-mile course will feature five staircases and roadways. The route will have all new staircases for those who have run the Bisbee 1000 Stair Climb. With the entry fee participants will receive a glow wand and glow necklace.
More of a good time than a serious race, the Stair Climb Glow will be a fun way to explore Bisbee’s evening streets. Along the route is the Muheim House; participants can stop in to see the heritage home during the walk. Competitive runners still have the option of participating as a timed runner; head lamps are strongly encouraged.
The “glow” part of the event will come from the town of Bisbee and the event’s participants. The run’s organizers encourage participants to let their imaginations run wild and dress in glow garb. They’ll also ask residents and businesses to light up their buildings. Judges will award a $50 cash prize for the participant who is the "glowing-est;" they’ll also give out awards for the best-lit Bisbee building.
Post-race festivities feature black lights, dance music, and T-shirt decorating using glow paint and glow markers. A prize will be awarded for the most dazzling creation. The Bisbee 500 Glow After Party will be held at the event finish line, which is at Copper Queen Plaza.
