Grand Central Mill processed silver ore from the Grand Central Mine in Tombstone. The mill is located one mile north of Fairbank in the SPRNCA. A Friends docent will explain the history of the site and show the remains of the mill, mostly the foundations where the 200 foot long, multi-story building once stood. Meet at the Fairbank Schoolhouse for this 2 mile, 3 hour tour. The trail is maintained, but be sure to wear walking shoes. Dress for the weather and bring water.

When: 9 AM

Where: Meet at the Fairbank Schoolhouse. Fairbank is on Highway 82 just east of the San Pedro River.

Basic Directions

Fairbank Historic Site:

From Interstate 10: Go south on Highway 90 about 18.5 miles to Highway 82 and turn left (east). Travel about 10 miles to the entrance on the left (north) side of the road (just east of the San Pedro River).

From Sierra Vista: From the Bypass, go north on Highway 90 about 8 miles to Highway 82 and turn right (east). Travel about 10miles to the entrance on the left (north) side of the road ( just east of the San Pedro River).
