2-5 p.m. - Afternooon Programs
Join the afternoon programs to view the sun safely through a special telescope.
5:30 p.m. The Giant Asteroid Vesta
Guest Speaker, Dr. David O'Brien, a research scientist at the Planetary Science Institute in Tucson, will present "The Giant Asteroid Vesta: Highlights from NASA's Dawn Mission." In addition, his talk will feature numerous close-up images and animations using data from the Dawn mission.
6:30 p.m. Evening Star Viewing
See planets, stars, comets, galaxies, and more through astronomers' telescopes. Evening star viewing begins when the night sky arrives. Astronomers will volunteer their expertise and telescopes for visitors to see an assortment of night sky attractions.
This event is supported by the Huachuca Astronomy Club and the Astronomers of Verde Valley.
