Join the Friends of the San Pedro river for an interpretive walk at the historic town of Millville. The Corbin and Gird mills processed silver ore mined in Tombstone. These stamp mills on the east side of the river roared day and night for the “boom” years between 1878 and 1889. It was a “boom-town” in every sense of the word – a quick rise and a rapid decline. This site is also well known for its many petroglyphs etched into the rocky hillsides. The walk is about 1 1/2 miles and will take about 2 hours. Be prepared for the weather with good shoes, water, and a hat.
