March is Arizona Archaeology and Heritage Awareness Month. The Friends of the San Pedro River will lead walks to significant historic sites within the San Pedro Riparian National Conservation Area every Saturday in March. Terrenate was an outpost of the Spanish Empire in the late 1700s.

Join FSPR docent Ron Serviss and Deni Seymour, noted archeologist and recent excavator at Terrenate. The hike is 3 miles and rated easy.

If you are interested in the hike, please meet at the Presidio Parking Area on In Balance Ranch Road.

Basic Directions

From Hwy 90, take Hwy 82 about 8 miles to In Balance Road and turn north. The parking area will be approx. 2 miles on the right.
