Exploring a region's dining scene is half the fun of travel. Now visitors can try coffee and gluten-free fare at Whyld Ass Coffee and Eatery in Bisbee, sample a variety of wines at Cafe Roka and Passion Cellars Tasting Room in Willcox.
Café Roka will offer wine tastings, small plate pairings
Café Roka will pair the wines with small plates of cheese, meats, breads w/dips, and veggies. Prices for the wine tastings will be $10. Café Roka will have 5 pours: 4 chosen by the staff, and one that will be the customer’s choice. Bottles will be available for purchase at substantial reductions.

New Bisbee coffee shop and eatery opens
Another addition to the Bisbee restaurant scene is Whyld Ass Coffee Shop and Eatery. The vegetarian, gluten-free eatery features interesting vegetarian sandwiches, vegan baked goods, and they even have a “pie palooza” on occasion. Reviewers approve heartily and say that you don’t have to be vegan or vegetarian to love the place.

Passion Cellars opens Willcox tasting room
Another new wine tasting room brings the total to 7 tasting rooms that are open on a regular basis in the Willcox area. Passion Cellars is now open on Fort Grant Road, north of town on the way toward Apple Annie’s Orchards. The vineyard already has a tasting room in Jerome, and has opened this one where most of its wines are made.
The 6-employee business cultivates a family atmosphere. This year, each employee got to make their “own” wine, and they are excited to see how they develop. The Willcox vineyard will plant 88 acres this spring. Current and previous vintages have been made with 85 percent Arizona grapes.
Tasting room hours are 11 a.m. – 6 p.m., Friday, Saturday & Sunday. Weekdays are open by appointment only.
