Karl May, a German novelist who died in 1912, has indirect ties to Sierra Vista in Cochise County. May lived most of his life in Radebeul, Sierra Vista’s sister city, where a museum is dedicated to the author.

If you have been scared off by news coverage about wildfires in Arizona, you might be surprised to learn that plenty of places in the Huachuca Mountains and the Chiricahua Mountains weren’t even touched by the fires.
