Event Start

The 23rd annual Bisbee 1000 can be a challenging competitive run or a casual walk exploring 1,000 of Bisbee’s stairs. Pledge the event, win prizes and help restore the historic steps while improving your health.

Participants will gather at the Courthouse in Old Bisbee for the 9:00 a.m. start featuring 10 waves, chipped timing. The 4.5 mile course features 9 staircases that take you through some of the most scenic parts of historic Old Bisbee. Musical entertainment, a costume contest, medals for all finishers, and an awards ceremony at noon.

The Ironman Ice Competition is “the event within the event.” It involves racing against time to carry a block of ice in old-fashioned ice tongs up 153 stairs - fun to participate in or just to watch! This 1/4-mile course will test your anaerobic threshold like it's never been tested before. Done in a time trial fashion, you'll grab a 10-pound block of ice in antique ice tongs, race up 155 stairs, traverse a trail leading to the steep downhill finish on paved road.

Bisbee 1000 also features a cadre of more than a dozen craft breweries for the 2nd annual Bisbee 1000 Invitational Craft Beer Festival.
